Dear Sir/Madam
Pat Machek
We are regular visitors to Vancouver Island and
am employed as Head of Mental Health Services and Project Management respectively
in Portsmouth, United Kingdom.
We are writing to express our admiration in regard to Pat's practical skills and emotional
maturity.
For 3 years we have been witnessing the development
of his boat handling and navigation skills. He handles the charter boat with apparent
ease and at all times demonstrates safety as a top priority. At no time have we ever
felt anything but complete confidence in his abilities.
In addition to this he is an expert fisherman and
is able to locate a variety of species in line with clients wishes. He is meticulous
in his approach to preparation to ensure that the clients achieve the best possible
results.
He adapts his approach to suit the level of experience
of the customers, which can be very broad. In addition he is able to communicate with
people from a wide range of nationalities and cultures.
He is completely reliable and has maturity beyond
his years in terms of social skills and interactions.
He works extremely hard and always appears to enjoy
his charters, even sometimes in difficult circumstances and weather conditions.
It has been a pleasure to witness Pat's development
and have no doubt that Pat will continue to be a real success in any career that he
may choose to follow.
Yours faithfully
Alistair and Beverley Macnaughton

Pat and a friend after a days fishing. Yes
it was Pat's day off!

This was the first fish of the day a 25lb4oz
coho salmon caught right off of the world renowned camper creek! What a fish of a
life time.
He was shipside at the appointed time and
quite reassuring in explaining the safety features of the boat, where we were heading,
and what kind of fish we would be catching. Pat explained the use of the fishing gear,
got us on to some great fish early, including my largest ever, and ensured we all
had fun. Back at the dock, he cleaned up our fish with the experience of a retired
sea captain, bagged it up and discussed strategy for the next day. The rest of our
trip was equally as satisfying as Pat gained our complete confidence and was able
to put us onto some world-class fish including 24.5 lb coho salmon and a nice 48 lb
Chinook - he truly is "The Fish Master"

I am writing to express my confidence in your abilities
as our guide, watercraft operator and navigator. Although my company and I became
seasick during the trip, nevertheless we did enjoy a good portion of it.
I would like to start by expounding on your keen
sense of direction and the ability to handle a craft in heavy seas. It was amazing
about the way you had your instruments programmed to locate previous fishing spots
and even more amazing that we caught a 12 pound salmon and a 14 pound halibut in those
locations.
With respect to operating the watercraft in heavy
seas I was impressed the way you chartered the direction of the boat to avoid being
hammered by the waves. In addition, controlling/adjusting the speed at exactly the
right moments sure helped. I would estimate the rise and fall of the waves at about
1.5 meters.
I am providing you with my observations not totally
from a lay persons view point, but with some 25 years experience in watercraft operation.
I have completed an advanced piloting course and I also carry a radio operator's license.
I boated throughout the gulf Island and up to Prince Rupert and participated in the
Swiftsure race and others.
Pat, I would suggest that you have well rounded
capabilities operating a charter boat, especially in heavy seas, keep it up. I look
forward to joining you on another trip in the future. (Maybe I'll be lucky next time
and not get sick)
Yours truly,
Peter Jmaeff, AScT, PQS
I wanted you all to know , although we tried to
tease Pat we all had an exceptional time. Pete and Pat were exceptional to our needs
and flexibility.

A pictures worth a thousand
words.....
To whom it may concern:
Pat Machek- "The Fish Master"
We were lucky to enjoy a truly fantastic fishing
experience this past September, and luckier still to meet one Pat Machek, who was
our guide for the trip.
We were lucky enough to have Pat & his dad join
us for supper one night with young Pat fitting in with us middle-aged chaps like he
knew us all his life. Pat is very mature for his age, is a very capable charter operator
and businessman and someone I would happily fish with again. It is somewhat rare to
see such a young gentleman display such skill in doing a man's job and be so happy
doing it.
Pat will be successful in whatever walk of life
he wishes to pursue.
